PEPP-Montreal
PEPP-Montreal (Prevention and Early Intervention Program for Psychoses) was the 2004 recipient of the first-ever grant from the Zhubin Foundation ($25,000). Dr. Ashok Malla, Director of the Research-Clinical Division of the Douglas Hospital and McGill University and the Director of PEPP-Montreal, and his team spent the past year developing core aspects of this innovative and important initiative - family support, education and opportunity to resume a normal life, and the prevention of serious mental disorders in youth. Some of the activities implemented included a series of workshops for families of recently diagnosed young family members, an early case detection outreach program to the community, and the initiation of a pilot project for the assessment and counseling of ultra high risk young people and their families.
The Zhubin Foundation is most proud to continue its support of this most worthwhile project with a repeat $25,000 grant.
