The Zhubin Foundation welcomes friends and supporters
to its official launch
The official launch of The Zhubin Foundation was held on October 12, 2004 at the Quartier Perse restaurant on Decarie Blvd. It was a wonderful success. Sixty-five friends and supporters joined Simin Sarikhani, the president of the Foundation, and her board for an evening of joy and of tears. After a mouth-watering dinner of Iranian dishes, Simin shared with the guests the guiding spirit behind The Zhubin Foundation - Zhubin's story (click here to read Simin's presentation).
The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the first Zhubin Foundation grant to Dr. Ashok Malla, Director of the Douglas Hospital Research Centre Clinical Research Division and the Prevention and Early Intervention Program for Psychoses (PEPP-Montreal) and one of the leading authorities in the world on the means and advantages of early detection of psychoses. Our $25,000 award is to be applied solely to the launch and support of one of Dr. Malla's programs, which falls squarely
